The 4S Whitetail Ranch is located near Aspermont, Texas. This area is part of the rolling plains of the Texas Panhandle. The ranch covers over 1,700 acres of which 1,150 acres is enclosed behind a game proof fence. We did this to insure total control of our whitetail deer management program. Our genetics are superior for this part of Texas. These deer are similar to the large bodied, large antlered Kansas whitetail deer. There are no cattle to compete with the wildlife. The ranch is managed for wildlife exclusively. The area also has super quail and turkey hunting!
The soil in this area is a red river bottom sandy soil deposited over millions of years by the Salt Fork of the Brazos River. These soils produce large quantities of protein rich perennial and annual legumes and forbs.
The type of brush on the property includes mesquite, hackberry, western soapberry, and a large number of oaks. The area also has some unique vegetation covered rolling sand dunes.

Our Wildlife Management Practices include:

- Fertilization of food plots
- Habitat manipulation(includes random areas of shredding vegetation to promote new growth during the spring and summer months)
- Light discing in a random fashion to promote the growth of essential forbs
- Fertilization of native species to increase protein and mineral content
- Establishing watering stations designed for wildlife utilization
- We have protein feeders stationed at various locations to help maintain nutrition levels year round. This helps supplement the excellent forage available to the wildlife on the ranch.
